Workshop series on data spaces within Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue

In collaboration with key stakeholders from the initiative “Data Spaces in Brazil”, the Secretariat for the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue promoted a series of discussions on data spaces. Three technical workshops took place in Porto Alegre, São Paulo and Brasília. They highlighted the potential of data spaces to foster innovation and enhance the data ecosystems in Brazil and Germany.

BMDV delegation visits Brazil to exchange on digital transformation

From 9 to 13 September 2023, a delegation from the German Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV) visited São Paulo and Brasília. Benjamin Brake, Director General Digital and Data Policy at BMDV, led the delegation. The visit aimed to foster cooperation and exchange of knowledge in digital transformation between Germany and Brazil.

Workshop on data spaces in Brazil

On 4 July 2023, the Secretariat for the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue co-hosted an online workshop on data spaces in Brazil together with the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) and other associations. 13th Brazilian Internet Forum: Workshop on platform regulation

On 2 June 2023, the Secretariat for the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue organised the workshop “Digital platforms: Socioeconomic fundaments, intersectoral prospects and regulatory challenges”. The Secretariat for the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue coordinated a task force of experts to debate 5G campus networks in Brazil and Germany. Mid-term review of the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue

On 6 December 2022, the German-Brazilian Digital Dialogue went through its second mid-term review meeting. Representatives from the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and the German Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV) highlighted the accomplishments of the Digital Dialogue. They also discussed topics to be included in the new biannual Work Plan.

Brazilian-German exchange about data protection policy

On 7 December 2022, the Secretariat for the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue initiated an online exchange series about data protection. Representatives from both the public and private sectors attended the first technical exchange which was held in Portuguese. The topic of the discussion was the dosimetry of administrative sanctions. Exchange on e-government within Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue

The technical exchange on e-government between the Brazilian Ministry of Economy (ME) and the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) was held on 22 November 2022. During the virtual meeting, both sides presented their experiences and challenges regarding the digitalisation of public administration.
